Mom just received this email from Tinu, the Swiss Sheepherder who wrote us back in 2023 here.

Tinu here, shepherd from Switzerland. I hope you are well and fine.

You can’t imagine how lucky you make me!

During off season in April I read “Stockdogs, Partners and Friends” again (it’s the only book I read regularly!). And finally it clicked:

Let the dog learn how to control the sheep, then let him work.

For the summer I have the young dog Mo with me who was never on sheep before and doesn’t even know ‘come’ or ‘sit’. This gave me the opportunity to finally try all your advice. And it works 🙂

After just 4 weeks Mo works much better than my other dogs who were trained to commands before they came to me. It is such a joy to let and watch Mo work!

And my other dogs are happy that I learn so much from Mo…
